• Luis Miguel Villanueva, 27, of the 1400 block of Walnut Hill Avenue, St. Charles, was issued a noise violation Monday, May 21, for playing loud music at 3 a.m.

ST. CHARLES – A 24-year-old Glen Ellyn man accused of inappropriately touching teenage girls at a St. Charles store was charged with additional misdemeanors after a third girl came forward, St. Charles police said Tuesday in a news release.

• Willie B. Walker Jr., 56, of the 100 block of Chapel Circle, Ripley, Tenn., was charged May 3 with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving with a blood-alcohol content greater than .08, driving while license suspended, speeding (77 mph in a 55 mph zone) and driving an uninsured vehicle.

ST. CHARLES – An intoxicated driver who wove in and out of traffic along northbound Randall Road on Sunday afternoon created a “deadly force situation” when he refused to cooperate with police once he pulled over, according to a St. Charles Police Department report.

BATAVIA – A 54-year-old Chicago man remains in custody at the Kane County Jail on $250,000 bail after being charged with stabbing a co-worker with a knife outside a Batavia firm Monday morning.

ST. CHARLES – The investigation of an armed robbery at a west side restaurant that took place over the weekend is pending, St. Charles Police Department spokesman Paul McCurtain said Monday.

An armed robbery reportedly occured early Saturday morning at Rookies restaurant, 1545 W. Main St., St. Charles.

• An employee at a liquor store in the 100 block of Route 38, Elburn, told police a male suspect took a bottle of Merlot wine from the store without paying for it on Tuesday, May 1. The employee described the suspect as a white male, about 6 feet, 4 inches tall, wearing a gray baseball cap. The employee said the suspect put the bottle under his jacket and fled the store. Police said the incident remains under investigation.

• Seven to nine gunshots were heard shortly before 3 a.m. May 17, but police found no victims, casings or damage to property, police reports state.

An Aurora woman faces a prison sentence of at least six years for shooting at a group of high school students after an altercation between the group and another group of students in summer 2010, according to a news release issued by the Kane County State's Attorney's Office.

• James Michael Godish, 28, of the 100 block of Remington Drive, St. Charles, was charged Friday, May 11, with retail theft for reportedly stealing $24.48 in cough syrup and candy from Meijer, 855 S. Randall Road.

ST. CHARLES – An east-side retailer reported a case of organized retail theft last week that also involved its store in Wheaton, according to a St. Charles police report.

• Gregory J. Duda, 52, of the 42W200 block of Timber Trail, St. Charles, was charged Wednesday, May 9, with two counts of felony domestic battery and two counts of misdemeanor domestic battery.

• Enrique Alvarez, 38, of the 14500 block of South Steiner Road, Plainfield, was charged Wednesday, May 9, with driving with a suspended license following an accident in the 200 block of Illinois Street.

ST. CHARLES – A 24-year-old Glen Ellyn man accused of inappropriately touching two teenage girls while they shopped at Target has been charged with two counts each of battery and disorderly conduct, St. Charles police said Monday.

• Natasha Spasojevic, 31, of 1110 S. Raddant Road, Batavia, was charged May 10 with retail theft for allegedly taking three bottles of perfume, a candle and two greeting cards valued at $90.07 from Kohl’s, 251 N. Randall Road.

• Barbara Ann Walter, 59, of the 0-100 block of Oak Creek Court, North Aurora, was charged May 8 with driving under the influence of alcohol and improper lane use.

• Marek Widelak, 34, of the 500 block of Charlton Court, Lake Villa, was charged Saturday, May 5, with battery. According to police, Widelak caused bodily harm to the victim when he grabbed her by the neck and choked her with his hand and banged her head against a patio door. The victim was taken to Delnor Hospital in Geneva.

• Michael James Vonkaenel, 27, of the 100 block of Walnut Drive, St. Charles, was charged Monday, May 7, with retail theft from Meijer, 855 S. Randall Road, where he worked in the Starbucks kiosk. He reportedly twice uploaded $25 to a Starbucks gift card without paying for it.

• Ivan Javier Castro, 45, of the 500 block of Walnut Avenue, Elgin, was charged May 2 with driving with a revoked license and speeding. He was also wanted on a Boone County warrant for a charge of driving with a revoked license, and he was wanted on a DuPage County warrant for failing to appear in court on a driving under the influence charge. He was taken to DuPage County because it had the higher bail, police reported.

• Jaclyn Merry Gomez, 23, of the 300 block of Thornhill Court, Schaumburg, was charged May 6 with driving under the influence of alcohol and improper lane use.

ST. CHARLES – The Kane County State's Attorney's Office next week plans to launch the Second Chance Felony Drug Program, which will allow low-level drug offenders to avoid a permanent conviction on their record – and potentially a prison sentence – if they agree to a 12-month treatment program.

ST. CHARLES – Police are encouraging residents to warn their parents and other elderly relatives about scams after an 88-year-old woman and her 90-year-old husband Friday paid cash for unsolicited home improvements, St. Charles police said in a news release.

Chief Judge Robert B. Spence announced today that – based on the recommendation of the 16th Judicial Circuit Courtroom Media Committee – the 16th Judicial Circuit will apply to join the Illinois Supreme Court’s pilot program, which would allow cameras in the courtroom.

• Ketchup was thrown on two cars Tuesday, April 24, while parked on the 1200 block of Shoop Drive. No permanent damage was done.

BATAVIA – The Batavia Police Department on Tuesday released the name of the 25-year-old man who was fatally stabbed early Monday morning at the Batavia Apartments complex.

ST. CHARLES – A St. Charles man driving with a blood-alcohol content nearly twice the legal limit heavily damaged his car last week after striking a tree along a residential street, according to a St. Charles Police Department report.

GENEVA – Geneva police are reminding residents to keep their garage doors closed and secured at night in response to a recent rash of thefts and burglaries from open and unlocked garages.

BATAVIA – Bail was set at $750,000 Tuesday for the Batavia woman charged in the fatal stabbing of a 25-year-old man that took place early Monday morning at the Batavia Apartments complex.

ST. CHARLES – An Elburn woman and her friend are being held at the Kane County Adult Justice Center on charges that they invaded an ex-boyfriend's St. Charles apartment and battered both him and his new girlfriend, St. Charles police said Monday.

• Salvador Morales, 21, of the 1100 block of West Wilson Street, Batavia, was charged April 19 with driving under the influence of alcohol, making an improper stop, failing to notify the Secretary of State’s Office of an address or name change, failing to dim headlights, improper use of a signal and operating in violation of a restriction.

• A decorative cast-iron fence valued at $50 was taken from the 500 block of Illinois Avenue. It was reported to police on April 26.

• Christopher D. Barr, 25, of the 1500 block of Madison Avenue, St. Charles, was charged April 24 with criminal damage to property and disorderly conduct.

An Aurora man was convicted Tuesday of stalking, in incidents that took place in Sugar Grove and Aurora.

• Edward Valadez, 45, of the 600 block of South River Street, Aurora, was charged Sunday, April 22, with public drunkenness.

ST. CHARLES – A mother and her daughter were awakened in their St. Charles home last week as an apparent intruder kicked and tripped over items in their kitchen, according to a city police report.
