ST. CHARLES – A 24-year-old Glen Ellyn man accused of inappropriately touching teenage girls at a St. Charles store was charged with additional misdemeanors after a third girl came forward, St. Charles police said Tuesday in a news release.

ST. CHARLES – An intoxicated driver who wove in and out of traffic along northbound Randall Road on Sunday afternoon created a “deadly force situation” when he refused to cooperate with police once he pulled over, according to a St. Charles Police Department report.

BATAVIA – A 54-year-old Chicago man remains in custody at the Kane County Jail on $250,000 bail after being charged with stabbing a co-worker with a knife outside a Batavia firm Monday morning.

ST. CHARLES – The investigation of an armed robbery at a west side restaurant that took place over the weekend is pending, St. Charles Police Department spokesman Paul McCurtain said Monday.
An armed robbery reportedly occured early Saturday morning at Rookies restaurant, 1545 W. Main St., St. Charles.

• An employee at a liquor store in the 100 block of Route 38, Elburn, told police a male suspect took a bottle of Merlot wine from the store without paying for it on Tuesday, May 1. The employee described the suspect as a white male, about 6 feet, 4 inches tall, wearing a gray baseball cap. The employee said the suspect put the bottle under his jacket and fled the store. Police said the incident remains under investigation.

• Marek Widelak, 34, of the 500 block of Charlton Court, Lake Villa, was charged Saturday, May 5, with battery. According to police, Widelak caused bodily harm to the victim when he grabbed her by the neck and choked her with his hand and banged her head against a patio door. The victim was taken to Delnor Hospital in Geneva.

• Michael James Vonkaenel, 27, of the 100 block of Walnut Drive, St. Charles, was charged Monday, May 7, with retail theft from Meijer, 855 S. Randall Road, where he worked in the Starbucks kiosk. He reportedly twice uploaded $25 to a Starbucks gift card without paying for it.

• Ivan Javier Castro, 45, of the 500 block of Walnut Avenue, Elgin, was charged May 2 with driving with a revoked license and speeding. He was also wanted on a Boone County warrant for a charge of driving with a revoked license, and he was wanted on a DuPage County warrant for failing to appear in court on a driving under the influence charge. He was taken to DuPage County because it had the higher bail, police reported.

ST. CHARLES – The Kane County State's Attorney's Office next week plans to launch the Second Chance Felony Drug Program, which will allow low-level drug offenders to avoid a permanent conviction on their record – and potentially a prison sentence – if they agree to a 12-month treatment program.

ST. CHARLES – A mother and her daughter were awakened in their St. Charles home last week as an apparent intruder kicked and tripped over items in their kitchen, according to a city police report.
