PEORIA – Much like a marathon, a state cross country meet has as many stories as there are runners. Success, to modify a phrase, is in the eye of the beholder.
ELBURN – Kaneland cross country runners continue to crow about a banner accomplishment nearly two decades in the making. It will not take as long for them to stop.
WARRENVILLE – St. Charles will be well represented at next weekend’s ’s Class 3A State Cross Country Meet in Peoria, as both East and North teams qualified for berths at the Wheaton North Sectional on Saturday.
ST. CHARLES – You'd think one of them would trip on a walnut, a shoelace would come untied or someone would get a leg cramp – something to separate a certain pair St. Charles North boys cross country runners.
LeRoy Oakes Forest Preserve has been kind to the St. Charles East girls cross country team.
ST. CHARLES – If Denise Hefferin is correct, next week's Class 3A St. Charles East girls cross country regional will be similar to Saturday's Upstate Eight Conference River Division Meet.
The Geneva boys and girls cross country teams have been wanting to participate in the Nike Northside/Southside Challenge since the inception of the race three years ago.
