A punctured jersey was a small price to pay Wednesday for St. Charles East girls soccer junior defender Allie Arvizu. Arvizu, who had a sizable hole through the No. 7 on her white jersey from rough play during East’s 1-0, regional semifinal win against Glenbard North, has less superficial concerns on her mind, like how the Saints can defeat host St. Charles North in today’s 4:30 p.m. IHSA Class 3A regional championship match. In this week’s Weekend Chit-chat with Chronicle sports editor Jay Schwab, Arvizu touches base on the rivalry with the North Stars, staying focused at the end of the school year and, of course, her tattered uniform.
